What is a fascinator?
A fascinator is a decorative head piece varying in size which is attached to a band or a clip and is designed to be affixed to the head as a hat alternative. Fascinators are permitted in the Queen Anne Enclosure.
We are attending as part of a stag/hen party, can we wear sashes, badges, tiaras and hats etc?
We do not allow any items relating to stag and hen parties for Royal Ascot as this would be considered novelty clothing.
Can I wear a dress or top with an open back?
As long as the dress or top isn’t strapless, off the shoulder or Bardot, it will be permitted.
What is considered to be a sheer strap or sleeve?
We consider a sheer strap or sleeve to be that of a sheer nude or very see-through fabric. Lace and coloured tulle, voile and organza materials will be permitted.
Can I wear culottes?
Yes, consider culottes to be akin to a dress. Therefore, length and straplines should conform to the rules of a dress or skirt.
How long is my skirt or dress required to be?
There is no maximum length required in this enclosure.
Do socks need to be worn?
Yes, socks covering the ankle must be worn when wearing a full length trouser.
Do I need to wear a tie?
Yes, a standard necktie must be worn. Bow ties and cravats are NOT permitted
